AiirProtekt have recently repacked an existing RTO with new heat exchange media. Over the years the existing RTO media had experienced issues with blockage due to a build up of Silica carried over from the process in the form of Silicones.

This has lead to an increase in pressure drop in the system and additional energy consumption of the exhaust extraction, so the time had come to offer a repacking solution.

After a forced cool down of the system the existing media was removed and sent away for recycling and new media installed. This work took a total of three days.

a) Specifying type of heat exchange media (structured or random) to minimise blockage & pressure drop
b) Depth of media to optimise heat recovery
c) Turn key installation including any necessary re-commissioning
